So if the new version does not the show temperatures from the Phidget, how can the temperature (that is not shown) be hotter than the roasters temperature!?
Which Phidget are you using? On which platform are you running Artisan? From which version of Artisan did you upgrade to which version of Artisan?
Anyhow, my advice would be to check your Artisan device configuration, make sure to have the latest Phidgets driver installed on your computer for your platform and keep cool;)

I down loaded newest version for mac but does not show temp from phiget I
have diedrich Ir3 should I delete every thing and start over .
older version was working but now temp is way hotter than roaster temp
Sorry for trouble you .
Iused hottop 8828P-2K，and HTRI（TC4C 1.33+HTC3.20），and I have installed
artisan0.9.2,and arduino1.0.6,and aArtisan310,and all these work.
I know you are very busy, but I can not find out the detail user manual(in
the artisan documents web, description is not so detail for me to
1.' background profile aid', 'load alarms from profile', PID mode as
‘background, and select ' ramp/soak table from profile', if all these
selected at the same time, what priority will be run?
2. About" roast/background profile",if the 'background profile aid' field
is not selected, then, the roast will not be done with the profile loaded,
is it right?
3.About the alarm,"config/alarm",if the'load alarms from profile' field
selected, press load, then should I select what kind of file(.alog? or
.alrm?)? if I select profiles .alog, then the path and file name do not show
in the alarm configure window. and after I load the profile, the alarms of
that profile list out in this window or not?
4.About PID control, if I select the mode as ‘background', whether I have
to select the' ramp/soak table from profile'? and if I select ' ramp/soak
table from profile',whether the data will show in the table if this window?
5. To read back the heater%, Fan%, Sv, how can I configure the extra device?
only select the arduinotc4_34, arduinotc4_56, arduinotc4_78,?
Sorry again for so many questions
Thank you again
Hi team Artisan,
Vor 24 Jahre wohnte ich 18 Monate in Deutchland, leider kann ich
nicht mehr die Sprache sehr gut. Also auf Englisch:
I think I will share my saga of installing Artisan with Arduino TC4
as thermometer/controller on three different operating systems. I
have a plan to finally get the Ubuntu version to work, which is the
question in the core of this email.
I first set up Arduino IDE on a Mac. That works quite well.
Then to use a TC4, I used the IDE to get that working.
Next I downloaded Artisan and learned to choose the correct USB port
so that it would recognize the TC4. The USB port was a short hurdle
and now that works very well.
I procured a cheap i386 desktop for a dedicated roaster computer with
Downloading artisan has been easy, but it won't recognize TC4. I
know I need a driver for the TC4, but I don't know how to install that.
In the interim, I will borrow my son's Windows laptop for a few roast
So I next installed Artisan on the Windows laptop, but once more no
luck recognizing the TC4. That was easy to solve: I installed the
Arduino IDE, The TC4 sketch and libraries and that process installed
a driver for the TC4. I uploaded the sketch on to the TC4/Arduino
and thereafter I can select the correct port on Artisan.
So now I will go back to the Ubuntu box and repeat the process of
getting the Arduino IDE to sync with the Arduino. I think the
Arduino website will lead me the steps to install a driver. I hope
that will then show me the way for Artisan to connect to the TC4.
I'll keep you posted in the hopes that another linux newbie like me
I´m running Artisan in Raspberry.
I follow the next steps:
-Download source code
-Install prerequisites from setup-packages-linux.txt for Ubuntu
-Run with python interpreter with : "phyton artisan.py"
It`s a little slow, must try overclocking or wait for the new Raspberry
